No Bully Initiative

"The Pawtucket School Department and City of Pawtucket are launching a one-year initiative (#nobullypawtucket) with No Bully, a leading anti-bullying non-profit, to ensure that Pawtucket schools are bully-free. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of Hasbro. During the course of the coming school year, No Bully will train all 17 schools across the Department how to implement and sustain the No Bully System®. The No Bully System® is a step-by-step process and set of interventions to prevent and stop bullying in our schools. Schools that implement the No Bully System® are able to solve the vast majority of incidents of bullying. For more information visit nobully.org."

School Announcement

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to welcome you to the 2019- 2020 school year at M.V. Cunningham Elementary School.  My name is Matt Bergeron and I was recently appointed Interim Principal at this great school. I am excited to get to work with the students, families and staff this year.

Note that any student who comes to school after 9:00 a.m.

is considered late and must enter through the front door (door #1) to be signed in. Classes dismiss at 3:10 p.m.

Should you have any questions, please email me ([email protected]) or call 401.729.6262.

We are looking forward to a very successful school-year.

Sincerely,

Matt Bergeron

Interim Principal

Most important to us is the safety of your child. Please read the following:

  1. Morning Arrival: Please be sure that your child is not on school grounds before 8:40 as there is no adult supervision available before then.
  2. If students arrive at school after 8:55, they need to line up at the designated door area to enter the building at 9:00.
  3. Tardy (LATE): Children are considered tardy if they arrive after 9:00. This information is on their permanent record and report cards.
  4. Truancy sanctions to apply for students who are frequently tardy.
  5. Afternoon Dismissal: If your child is picked up at the end of the day, please be sure that the person who picks up your child is at the designated

door at 3:10. It is a safety issue to have unattended children in the school yard or in school without adult supervision.

I look forward to another exciting year with the entire Cunningham community! If you need to contact me, please feel free to call me at 401-729-6262 or email me at ([email protected])
